Our Founder
Nick was born in Quebec City and began a life-long career in sports at an early age. After competing in the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, and finishing 16th in Men’s Slalom, he was named Head Coach of the Canadian Women’s Ski Team, experiencing many successes including World Championship and Olympic Medal victories.
Nick transitioned his career from coaching to sport business, including: as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Alpine Canada, Senior Executive with the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club. His many challenges included leading the execution of the hugely successful, and record setting Heritage Classic, followed by the acquisition, launch and operation of the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.
Nick also has been instrumental in the establishing and success of the recently completed Alberta World Junior Hockey Championships, the Oilers Analytics Working Group, and chairing the University of Alberta’s Advisory Group in Analytics. A participant, competitor, coach, mentor and senior executive in Canadian sport organizations and business, Nick Wilson has garnered a reputation internationally as a high achiever and project team leader.
In 2014, Nick established The Sport of Business Ltd. Clients include Rexall Sports Corporation, The Edmonton Oilers and Oil Kings, The University of Alberta, Darkhorse Analytics, among many other notable sports organizations and corporate clients.
